Community Service Opportunities
As an essential avenue for pursuit of Syracuse University’s vision—Scholarship in Action—community engagement is a pervasive theme of student and faculty life here. Opportunities abound to become involved in community projects through both academic and extracurricular activities, providing ways to make a difference in the world every day.
You will find many examples of community service opportunities offered through the schools and colleges of the University on the web site of the
Mary Ann Shaw Center for Public and Community Service.
Religious organizations also coordinate community-oriented projects through
Students Offering Service, an umbrella organization of Hendricks Chapel, the University’s home for students, faculty, and staff of all faiths.
