Cultural & Arts Opportunities

The SU campus and Central New York combine to form a creative community, brimming with choices among performances, exhibitions, and other cultural events 365 days a year. Faculty and students have forged deep and broad connections with the rich array of arts centers, museums, and cultural organizations on campus, in the City of Syracuse, and beyond. Here’s a sample of opportunities to whet your appetite.

The Connective Corridor is a community-wide effort to link arts and cultural happenings, businesses, and neighborhoods of downtown Syracuse and the University Hill, home to three major universities and over 20 arts and cultural venues - all within one mile of each other. Travel the Connective Corridor.

Pulse is a joint campus-community program to highlight arts and cultural events taking place at the University and many of the regions premier venues.
Take the Pulse.

Students make music with the Syracuse University Symphony Orchestra, Black Celestial Choral Ensemble, a cappella groups like The Mandarins and Groovestand, and many others.

Dance troupes are also a popular form of self expression at SU. DanceWorks, Kalabash, and Raices are a few of the dance groups on campus.

Students interested in drama don't have to be drama majors to take to the stage. Students from across the University help to put on a full-scale musical production each spring as part of the First Year Players student organization.
