More Info About Faculty
Syracuse University faculty members are leaders in their academic and professional fields.
They are bench scientists, engineers, artists, humanists, social scientists, social workers, therapists,
policy analysts, entrepreneurs, and public intellectuals—scholars and teachers who embody distinction
and excellence in many disciplines and arenas. They come from a wide range of backgrounds in culture, education,
and philosophy, energizing the classroom by tapping these backgrounds and the expertise they hone as
members of the international community of scholars in their fields. By bringing all of these assets to
bear on the most pressing problems facing our local and global communities today—mentoring, motivating,
and nurturing students to excel—they model SU’s vision, Scholarship in Action.
Among the faculty are MacArthur Foundation “Genius” grant winners, Fulbright Scholars, members of the
national academies, honorees of major scholarly associations, and award-winning teachers. You will find
more about the members of our faculty through the individual school and college web sites listed below.
